DICT offers Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure to DENR
EMB-MIMAROPA encourages its key personnel to avail the Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) in order to secure electronic transactions, documents, and digital signatures in line with the current COVID-19 pandemic and the work-from-home arrangement for both the public and private sector.
It allows users to exchange private data securely and ensures a reliable online transaction. The PNPKI service is FREE.
The DICT offers three types of digital certificates: individual certificates, agency certificates, and Secure Socket Layer certificates or SSL. These certificates are very small files that can be stored on your computer, an ordinary flash drive or USB token.
Who can avail:
● Government agencies and personnel
● Private individuals
● Government computers, servers and machines
● Vastly improves verifiable identification of an individual or entity
● Digital Certificates imbue on to data sufficient integrity for acceptance as evidence in a court of law
● Provides significant protection against unauthorized access of common communications
Pursuant to Executive Order No. 810 series of 2009, the DICT operates the Root Certification Authority (RootCA) and Government Certification Authority (GovCA) for the processing and issuance of digital signature certificates. This is part of the government’s effort to institutionalize the application of digital signatures in E-Government Services.
