To strengthen the stewardship toward environmental protection, the Water Environment Association of the Philippines (WEAP), in close coordination with the Environmental Management Bureau MIMAROPA Region, organized and facilitated the Basic Training Course for Pollution Control Officers on 16-20 August via Zoom.
To ensure that the participants are best educated, WEAP invited speakers from EMB MIMAROPA who are capable of sharing their expertise including: For. Alexander M. Bongco, Chief, Air and Water Permitting Section; Ms. Rachel Visaya-Villano, Head, Regional Environmental Laboratory; Ms. Maevelyn Kathryn D. Tupasi, Chief, Ambient Monitoring and Technical Services Section; Engr. Christy A. Matias, Chief, Chemicals and Hazardous Wastes Permitting Section; Engr. Pablito M. The participants from private entities and Local Government Units (LGUs) attended the five-day virtual training and are now expected to recognize applicable legal and regulatory requirements in their line of work in order to improve environmental compliances and to strengthen the stewardship toward environmental protection.
