In celebration of the Philippine Environment Month and the 35th Anniversary of DENR, EMB MIMAROPA Region hailed four “Outstanding Stakeholders” in MIMAROPA Region for their best environmental practices during the Awarding Ceremony conducted last 29 July 2022 at the Conference Room, DENR By the Bay, L&S Bldg., Roxas Blvd., Ermita, Manila.

The ceremony aimed to recognize various stakeholders for exhibiting remarkable efforts, contributions, and innovations to the preservation of environment even during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A Plaque of Recognition were given to different institutions during the ceremony.

EMB MIMAROPA recognized Ten Knots Development Corporation (El Nido Resorts) for advocating responsible tourism, exercising stewardship over its natural environment, and community engagement through environmental education.

Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation was awarded for advocating eco-tourism initiative, implementation of Adopt a Continuous Ambient Air Monitoring Station Program, and exercising stewardship over its natural environment.

Two institutions, namely: Coral Bay Nickel Corporation and Graymont Philippines Inc. received their awards for the implementation of Adopt a Continuous Ambient Air Monitoring Station Program, exercising stewardship over natural environment, and effective compliance with environmental laws in MIMAROPA Region.

In his message, EMB MIMAROPA Regional Director Joe Amil Salino commended everyone’s shared responsibilities towards environmental protection and preservations.

“I hope that through this Awarding Ceremony, we would be able to broaden more people’s perspective and inspire other stakeholders and individuals to pursue environmental excellence. Let us continue to encourage the public to be part of the growing partnership in pursuit of sustainable development.”

“For as long as we do our jobs as best as we can, we can and should hold our heads up high. Let us all upheld the concept of inter-generational responsibility — the responsibility of every generation to ensure that succeeding generations will continue to enjoy a balanced and healthful ecology,” he added.

Proudly representing the Outstanding Stakeholders at the awarding ceremonies were Ms. Arreth Tibayan for Ten Knots Development Corporation (El Nido Resorts); Ms. Janice Tupas, Mine Environmental Protection and Enhancement Program Manager concurrent PCO and Engr. Ronelbert Suguitan, Resident Mine Manager for Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation; Engr. Benjamin Tansingco, Vice President for Environmental Management and Ms. Reya Belaro, Senior Sup. EMO; and Mr. Rommel Ibuna, President of Graymont (Philippines) Inc. and Ms. Hilda Quillo, Country Manager of Graymont (Philippines) Inc.
