Hundreds of volunteers from various organizations, including the Environmental Management Bureau MIMAROPA Region, collected a total of 119 sacks full of solid wastes in the coastline of Brgy. Lazareto Proper and in Harka Piloto Island in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro on September 16, 2023.

In observance of the International Coastal Cleanup Day 2023, volunteers from EMB MIMAROPA Region, City Government of Calapan, DILG MIMAROPA, DILG Calapan City, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Department of Education, Boy Scouts of the Philippines, Girl Scouts of the Philippines, non-government organizations, public schools, students and youth organizations, and local residents alike flocked the coastline of Barangay Lazareto to show their support for this year’s celebration with the theme, “Clean Seas for Healthy Fisheries, Sustainably Feed the Global Population.”
